“Tabling” at the ANC Zine Fair:

There is no deadline to submit work to the ANC Zine Fair. The first step towards getting involved is to reach out to us at zinefairak@gmail.com and to fill out the following form:

Once we receive your response, we will reach out with guidelines for submitting images of your work and other details about the the process.

How does the ANC Zine Fair work?

The ANC Zine Fair runs throughout December. This year the fair takes the form of a bookshop at Bivy located at 419 G Street, STE 100 in downtown Anchorage. The bookshop is open on weekends and by appointment. The online store on our website is also open throughout the month of December. The fair’s website is updated with new works on a weekly basis. When the ANC Zine Fair ends, the continues to exist, minus the shopping cart function.

Contributors can opt in or out of selling their work directly through the ANC Zine Fair’s website. In both cases, participants’ pages have the contact information, social media links and links to participants’ websites and stores.

To sell on the ANC Zine Fair’s website participants are asked to drop off inventory of their products to Tent City Press, where we take care of filling orders, shipping and arranging customer pick ups. If you cannot drop off inventory to us you are expected to ship directly to customers. If this is the case, add the shipping costs to the price of your products.

The ANC Zine Fair does not take a percentage of your sales, but passes along the fees charged by Paypal or Squarespace. This should be 5% or less. We remain transparent about these costs as we move forward. All the shipping costs that the website charges at checkout go to the ANC Zine Fair in order to cover the shipping orders that we handle.

The ANC Zine Fair helps with Printing and Design:

The ANC Zine Fair raised some funds to offset the costs of printing and design for the projects of local artists and makers. This means that we can provide you free help to make your idea a reality. The best way to learn more is to email ZINEFAIRAK@gmail.com or call Jimmy Riordan at 907 343 9696.

Vendors:
To list your products for sale through the ANC Zine Fair’s website, you need to either provide us with the inventory that we can ship, or inform us that you will personally take care of shipping. If you are providing us the inventory, the sooner you can get it to us the better. Drop off is at Tent City Press in downtown Anchorage (tentatively Wednesdays 2-6PM). If you are shipping yourself, make sure to include shipping in the price of your item. We ship items weekly and arrange pick up and drop off directly with the Anchorage customers. We plan to start shipping the second week of December, and shipping in a timely manner once the item is bought is important, so please get things in order by that time, or before we list your item on the website.

Customers:
We are offering 3 options for getting products to you: pick up, shipping and local personal delivery.

Pick up:
We set up pick-up days and hours at Tent City Press in downtown Anchorage. Then we reach out to you with details and work with customers to try and work around their schedules. We have orders available for pick up at our drive-in events and during the AK BookMobile’s hours or at Bivy during open hours.

Shipping :
Shipping is charged by the website at checkout. If we find that the website overcharges shipping (unlikely) we include some extra stuff in your order to make it worth while! We begin packing orders the second week of December and ship them using Media Mail. If you purchase an item from someone outside of Anchorage, they will have included extra shipping in the price of their products to cover the shipping directly to you from their location.

Local delivery:
If you live in Anchorage, but cannot schedule a pick-up, we are offering a sweet local delivery service. On a weekly basis we personally drop orders off in your mailbox, hang it on your doorknob or leave it on your porch. Please consider this instead of shipping if you are in town.
